Patricia Bobeck has 20 years of experience as an independent freelance translator (French and Spanish into English) specializing in the earth sciences. She draws upon her graduate studies in geology at the University of Texas at Austin and her work as a geologist for environmental and natural resources agencies of the State of Texas.
Her areas of expertise include petroleum, uranium, chemistry, engineering, mining, the environment and geophysics.
Her studies in linguistics include a graduate degree from the University of Michigan, language teaching in the Caribbean and South America, and residence in Switzerland and France.
The translation of Darcy’s 1856 work describes the planning and construction of Dijon’s water supply system in 1840 and includes the 1855 Darcy’s Law experiments. Patricia Bobeck’ English translation includes the unabridged text plus 28 engineering plates originally published as a separate atlas.
